The Role

The #2 Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the construction process of multifamily and commercial projects, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves close collaboration with the Lead Superintendent, project managers, subcontractors, and other construction professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management:Assist the Lead Superintendent in managing the day-to-day operations on the construction site. Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and effectively.
• Quality Control:Maintain high standards of workmanship that comply with architectural plans and specifications. Conduct regular inspections and enforce strict safety regulations.
• Team Leadership:Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and feedback to help them grow professionally. Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages team effort and positive attitudes.
• Communication:Serve as a key point of contact for project stakeholders. Communicate progress, challenges, and changes effectively to all parties involved.
• Schedule Management:Monitor construction schedules, ensuring that milestones are achieved and delays are minimized. Adjust workflows as necessary to meet deadlines.
• Budget Oversight:Help manage construction budgets, track expenditures, and ensure that the project remains within financial constraints.
• Safety Compliance:Enforce safety protocols and OSHA regulations, conducting regular site safety meetings and reporting any incidents or hazards immediately.
• Subcontractor Coordination:Oversee the work of subcontractors to ensure quality and timeliness. Resolve conflicts or miscommunications that may arise on site.
• Documentation:Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including daily logs, delivery schedules, and change orders.
