The Role

Job Description:

As a Construction Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of commercial construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and manage project schedules to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to optimize project timelines and resource allocation. Your expertise in construction scheduling software and your deep understanding of commercial construction processes will be essential in this role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) to ensure accurate and achievable timelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to gather project information, assess progress, and identify potential scheduling conflicts or delays.
  • Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate labor, equipment, and materials to meet project deadlines while optimizing resource utilization.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential schedule risks and propose mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Progress Reporting: Generate regular progress reports and visualizations for project stakeholders to provide insight into project status and potential issues.
  • Change Management: Evaluate the impact of changes to project scope or timeline and adjust schedules accordingly.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that schedules align with project quality and safety requirements, and make necessary adjustments as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to construction scheduling, and implement improvements to enhance scheduling processes.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Construction Scheduler in the commercial construction industry.
  • Proficiency in construction scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
