The Role

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor assigned projects to ensure they meet the agreed construction schedule, expected quality levels, and adherence to the company’s Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide leadership, advice, and assistance to field staff regarding, sequencing, scheduling, people management and methods of construction.
  • Provide input on budgets and determine field staff requirements.
  • Ensure that field personnel are performing to established standards, providing help and guidance when required to ensure issues are mitigated before they arise.
  • Ensure that field personnel are performing to established standards.
  • Oversee the development of project schedules and monitor all project schedules for compliance.
  • Review project schedules during regular project visits, highlighting potential challenges and providing solutions when required.
  • Help provide creative solutions to challenges, adopting a positive, team oriented approach which ensures the best outcome is reached for the business and its stakeholders.
  • Coordinate field training in job specific and safety training.
  • Recruit, mentor, coach, and train teams to ensure they are able to effectively execute project plans.
  • Foster and develop effective working relationships with team members, ensuring deliverable development and succession plans are in place within the field teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of Superintendent experience, successfully delivering complex Multifamily projects.
  • Ability to project manage and deliver multiple high value projects concurrently.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage the details necessary for the successful delivery of high value, complex Multifamily projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction Management (preferred but not essential) and experience relative to size/scope of projects.
  • Mid-high rise experience is preferable, but not essential.
  • Strong understanding and use of programming and scheduling software with the ability to use this to help produce workable and deliverable schedules.
  • A strong sense of urgency and initiative with the ability to constantly multi-task and handle competing priorities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think and act decisively.
